As a maker, my ceramics derive from experience and feminine corporeality. Influenced by abject theory and feminist art theory; my forms evolve from studies of the female nude, abstracted into ambiguous bodily fragments. I endeavour to hybridise painting and ceramics; preserving qualities of sensitivity, fragility and sensuality from sketchbook to three-dimensional form. My process involves working in an impulsive and expressive manner of hand building and painting, transcribing raw emotion and intimate experience.  My style of mark making resonates with cleansing rituals and discretion of the private space. Creating human sized pieces, allows myself to exert greater visceral energy into the material, thus manifesting visions of fragmented femininity.
